1、 Selection of grinding wheel for Stainless Steel Grinding
Stainless iron (such as 410, 430, etc.) is prone to sticking to grinding wheels and causing burns due to its chromium content and poor thermal conductivity. Therefore, it is necessary to choose grinding wheels with the following characteristics:
1. Material:
-WA (White Jadeite): High hardness and good toughness, suitable for precision grinding (refer to the "Abrasive and Grinding Tool Manual" GB/T 2484-2018).
-PA (chromium corundum): added with chromium oxide, resistant to high temperature adhesion, recommended for high smoothness requirements (such as Ra0.8 μ m or less).
-CBN (cubic boron nitride): High efficiency and long life, but high cost, suitable for large-scale processing (recommended particle size of 80-120).

2. Parameter matching:
| Grinding wheel type | granularity | hardness | binder | Applicable scenarios |
| WA | 46-60 | K-L | ceramics | Rough grinding/semi fine grinding |
| PA | 60-80 | J-K | resin | Rough grinding/semi fine grinding |
| CBN | 80-120 | M-N | metal | Batch processing of superhard materials |
3. Precautions: Avoid using GC (green silicon carbide) as it is prone to chemical reactions with stainless iron, which can cause clogging of the grinding wheel.
4.The simplest three steps for grinding stainless iron with a grinding wheel
1. Pre treatment: Clean the oil stains on the surface of the workpiece, adjust the flow rate of the grinding machine coolant to 15-20L/min (refer to ISO 16089 standard), and prevent thermal deformation.
5. Extension suggestions
Coolant selection: Water based coolant containing extreme pressure additives (such as 5% emulsion) can effectively cool down and reduce adhesion.
Grinding wheel dressing: After grinding 50 pieces, use a diamond pen to dress the grinding wheel to maintain cutting sharpness.
Alternative solution: If processing efficiency is prioritized, SG (ceramic corundum) grinding wheel can be used, which has a 30% increase in microcrystalline structure wear resistance (data source: Norton Grinding Wheel Technical Report).
Through reasonable selection and process optimization, stainless steel grinding can balance efficiency and accuracy, avoiding common defects such as scratches or burns
